AXLE WOES!

Updated: Aug 20, 2020

So... I decided I'd FINALLY replace the CV joint boots and rear wheel bearings on the Lily (my 1969 project car) last weekend. As usual, I used a couple dental picks to get the old allen heads as clean as possible, so my 6mm hex bit wouldn't strip them out upon removal... which leads to potentially hours of misery. I got nearly all of them out effortlessly, but a couple started to deform, as I twisted the allen hex bit into them. "GREAT" I thought... I'll NEVER be able to get those ones tight enough when I put this back together. Combining this inconvenience with the nasty task of cleaning all of them thoroughly in solvent before reinstallation, I started to wonder if I should just have new bolts at the ready for this job, next time. So... I present you with these cool kits. Available for all pre-1992 models (and some newer ones, too) in M8 (6mm allen/hex) and/or M10 (8mm allen/hex) size. Super strong 12.9 hardened CV bolts! Call or e mail us with your year and model, and we'll tailor a set for your car! $36 includes domestic US shipping to your door. Most models in stock NOW!
